Elected officials, including two new commissioners, were formally sworn in to office by Secretary General Doreen Blackned at the meeting of the Council of Commissioners in Gatineau September 10-12, 2019.
Robin Pachanos (Chisasibi) and Gerti Jolly (Nemaska) were elected to represent their respective communities during the summer elections.
Daisy Shecapio was re-elected in Oujé-Bougoumou, and also took her oath of office at the meeting.
As well, Emily Mianscum (Waswanipi) assumes the role of vice-chairperson.
In a Facebook Post following the ceremony, CSB Chairperson Sarah Pash wrote:
"Emily is our longest-serving commissioner and will bring her experience, commitment, and passion for education to important work in the ongoing funding negotiations."
Council appointed a new Executive Committee member - Stella Lameboy (Wemindji) - to sit alongside Pash and the vice-chair on the executive committee.
Audit Committee: Errol Mianscum (Mistissini), Rachel Kawapit (Whapmagoostui), and Nian Moses (Eastmain).
Governance Committee: Emily Mianscum (Waswanipi), Sarah Pash (Chairperson), Stella Lameboy (Wemindji) and Daisy Shecapio (Oujé-Bougoumou).
Ad Hoc Research Committee: Brenda Hester (Waskaganish), Sarah Pash (Chairperson), Stella Lameboy (Wemindji), and Rachel Kawapit (Whapmagoostui).
