We recognize the many life challenges and sometimes difficult issues students can face to attend CEGEP/colleges and universities in the south that may disrupt their studies.

Workshops / Seminars

Periodically, Guidance Counsellors and/or Student Affairs Technicians organize workshops for students regarding budgeting, stress management, time management, and other topics that help with student life. These workshops are scheduled in groups or organized on an individual basis.   

One-on-one sessions are available upon request.

Resource Centres

The resource centres at PSSS offices (Montreal and Gatineau) are dedicated in memory of Late Grand Chief Dr Billy Diamond.  

The resource centres are equipped with: 

  • Library with First Nations resources and reference materials;
  • Computer lab including internet access, Desktop Computers (Windows), Wi-Fi, printing, photocopying and scanning equipment;
  • Study rooms;
  • Playroom for children;
  • Lounge;
  • Kitchen.

PSSS-sponsored students have exclusive access to the resource centres for studying and exchanging among students during the day, evenings and weekends. To arrange access to the resource centres after working hours, contact the PSSS offices during working hours.

Student Associations

Cree School Board Student Associations can be established to create a sense of community among sponsored students. Student Associations are voluntary and managed by students.  

Students volunteer their time to organize various activities for fellow Cree students and their dependents. Please contact the Student Affairs Technicians for further details.
