Mission Statement

To provide and preserve information in registers, corporate books, and other documents produced, managed, and preserved for the Cree School Board.

Responsibilities and Roles

The Secretary General takes the appropriate measures to prepare for corporate meetings and attends all meetings and draws up minutes of all the acts and proceedings thereof.  The Secretary General is also the custodian of all corporate files and ensures copies and extracts are authentic. Furthermore, the Secretary General is also accountable for the administration and management of the following:

  • Inactive Student Records
  • Cree School Board Elections
  • Archives of the Board
  • Legal Counsel
  • Orientation of Elected Members
  • James Bay Northern Quebec Agreement – Section 16
  • Quebec Education Act for Cree, Inuit and Naskapi Native Persons
  • Cree School Board By-laws
  • Operational Policies
  • Code of Ethics of Professional Conduct
  • Access to Information
  • Canadian Copyright Act

The Secretary General also ensures the Board's activities and actions are compliance with:

  • James Bay Northern Quebec Agreement – Section 16
  • Quebec Education Act for Cree, Inuit and Naskapi Native Persons
  • Cree School Board By-laws
  • Operational Policies
  • Code of Ethics of Professional Conduct
  • Access to Information
  • Canadian Copyright Act
